Clinical consultation and supervision

I have worked in the eating disorder field for over 15 years, at all levels of care, and in private practice. I would love to support you in this important work.

I am passionate about providing support and consultation to practitioners who share my dedication to supporting humans in the process of navigating eating disorder healing and complicated relationship with body. My consultative offerings are twofold: first, for individuals or practices that are looking to enhance clinical interactions, develop resilience and make room for growth to best support clients.

Second, Chronic Healers Consultation exists for practitioners in the eating disorder field who live with a chronic something, or a chronic anything. As we know, healing happens in community, and I know that you are a better practitioner for the chronic thing that you experience.

Join me in exploring this reality.

Warmly, and with deep respect,

Anna

    Clinical Supervision

Anna Sweeney is an iaedp™ Certified Eating Disorders Registered Dietitian and Approved Consultant (CEDS-C). She is eager to support you in developing your own eating disorders expertise.

Anna began supervising clinicians in the field of eating disorders when she served as the coordinator of nutrition services at Walden behavioral Care, an eating disorder treatment facility outside of Boston in 2011. Since then, she has served in a variety of supervisory rules in eating disorder treatment facilities, and has provided consultation to both groups and individuals working in the eating disorder treatment field. She loves seeing her peers develop into stronger and more confident practitioners.

The purpose of clinical supervision is multi-fold:

Enhance your professional growth, confidence, and clinical skill

Establish boundaries to keep both you and your clients safe in this work

Evaluate your practices of self-care so that you can take good care of yourself while taking care of others

Ensure the best possible care and outcomes for your clients; gain confidence navigating rupture and repair in relationship

Examine the ways in which perfectionism and systems of oppression impact the work that you are doing

Topics of conversation include: guidance on stuck points and questions with your clinical cases, working through difficult team dynamics, review of current research, development of areas where you feel you are lacking, business coaching, perceived mistakes, as well as your successes.

    Chronic Healers Consultation

I’ve been chronically ill since long before I entered the eating disorder treatment community. The experience of supporting humans going through hard things while going through hard things myself has been challenging and isolating. I know that I'm not alone. Chronically ill practitioners are an important part of the eating disorder treatment community.

We do important work. We foster healing. We make space for our clients to be themselves. We believe in the possibility of positive body experiencing. We are uniquely skilled.

Chronically ill practitioners deserve to be in community with other humans who get it.

Chronic healers consultation is a group designed especially for eating disorder practitioners who live with a chronic something, or a chronic anything. Chronic illness and progressive disability have impacted every part of my work. Mostly, this has been positive. Always, it has been isolating. I know that I am not alone. Chronic healers consultation is a clinical consultation community that I can't wait to share with you.

If you are an eating disorder practitioner with a chronic illness, or a chronic anything, this is for you.

    Bi-weekly meetings.

    Small group format.

    Clinician specific conversation.

    Case consultation. Communal resourcing.

Navigating self disclosure, counter transference, and all things human.

    Community learning. Community witnessing. Community.

Working with Anna has been a total game-changer for my practice. Every time we meet I leave feeling so much more confident and competent in my skills as a nutrition therapist. Not only does Anna provide such knowledgeable insight, but her empathy, compassion, and authenticity make her such a pleasure to be around. Supervision with Anna has easily been the best investment I have made in my career. I highly recommend working with her!

It’s hard to put into words the gratitude I have for Anna and her mentorship. I have gained so much knowledge in our work together, as well as confidence in my skills as a practitioner. Anna is incredibly supportive, and I always leave sessions filled with ideas and inspiration for how to best help some of my most complex clients. Anna has a way of getting to the heart of and simplifying complex situations to make them more manageable. But mostly, Anna is just a really supportive and caring person, who knows how important our work is, and wants you to feel good about your clinical practice!
