reclaim food and body wisdom
eating disorder recovery – body image healing - weight inclusive nutrition therapy
Navigating decisions around food and body and health have never been more challenging than they are today. The diet industry is loud and deceptive. It promotes unrealistic ideals, rigid rules, and attempts to categorize food choice as good or bad, healthy or unhealthy, life-enhancing or life-suppressing without appreciation for the human, eating. This oversimplifies the complex relationship between food, body, and well-being. It ignores genetics. It neglects to acknowledge the social determinants of health. It's screams all things wellness without appreciating the lack of wellness that is being promoted.
We believe you are infinitely wise and worthy of redefining your relationship with food and body and wellness in a way that works for you, uniquely.
You deserve nourishment beyond nutrition. You deserve nurturance. You deserve an experience with nutrition beyond food rules and rigidity and nutrient specificity. In a world of countless “nutrition experts,” we acknowledge that you are the expert of your body. We respect your experiences and your knowing.

Fee for Service Notice for Nutrition Counseling
In-network Insurance: Whole Life Nutrition currently accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. Insurance is billed directly on your behalf, if your coverage has been verified in advance of your visit. If insurance rejects a submitted claim for any reason, the client is responsible and will pay the full fee for the service(s) rendered.
Out-of-network Insurance: If we are not in-network with your insurance, your clinician can provide a superbill that you can submit directly to your insurance company. If a superbill is requested, clients are responsible for privately paying at the time of the service. Additionally, submitting a superbill does not guarantee reimbursement to cover the services provided.
Out of Pocket Fees: If not covered by or not using insurance, out of pocket fees are $175 per session for Sarah Butler, and $200 per session for Anna Sweeney.
Sliding Scale Options: We feel that nutrition therapy should be accessible to everyone, so we are open to work on a sliding scale basis depending on your need. Please indicate your interest in a sliding scale rate on the inquiry form.
Medicaid/Medicare: We are not in-network with Medicare or Medicaid . If you have one of these plans, please inquire about low-cost sliding scale and private pay services.
Care Coordination Fee:Depending on the client's case, there may be an increased amount of time spent by the clinician on care coordination outside of sessions. The client would be responsible for a care coordination fee of $30 per 15 minutes. An estimate document can be provided by the clinician.

Our sessions are 50 minutes long. We take the first few sessions to really get to know you. This includes a thorough assessment where we review the intake material together, discuss your eating history, talk through current food and body struggles and determine together a prioritized list of goals. In each follow-up session, will delve more into understanding your unique relationship to food, explore what is and isn't working, and refine your goals. As a team, and with you as the most important member, we work together to move you closer to where you wish to be.

Absolutely. Most of our clients are in a place where they want to let go of the scale as a measure of self-worth and want to be less obsessed with food. But their histories of chronic eating disorders and dieting make it really hard to do so. We want you to know these are principles that inform our work but that we are there to partner with you as you grapple through your own process of healing.
-
It depends on your needs and preferences. As you might expect, the duration of our relationships depend on the purpose of our meeting, your goals, your readiness to change, the support systems you have in place, and many other factors. Most importantly, this is really up to you. We will encourage you to determine if your needs and whether or not we are making progress towards your goals.
For some clients weekly visits can be crucial. For others, a few visits may suffice. After the assessment, we discuss with our clients what is both beneficial and realistic, taking into account their specific circumstances and goals.
