Nutrition counseling FAQ:

Q: I'd like to set up an appointment, what do I need to do next?

If you feel like we are a good match for you, fill in the form below and we will reach out to you!

Q: What services do you provide?

Our team of dietitians provide one-on-one virtual nutrition counseling sessions. We work with clients age 13+ of all genders, all races, all bodies and abilities. We also offer guidance and coaching to parents of children with feeding issues, providing strategies to engage with their children using a Health at Every Size (HAES) approach.

Q: Do you accept insurance?

Whole Life Nutrition practitioners are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and are able to provide Insurance based care in many states. Cash pay clients are provided with super bills for insurance reimbursement. You are welcome to use your HSA or FSA account for payments.

Q: You talk about using the principles of intuitive eating and fat positivity. I have read your website and I'm not sure that I'm quite ready for these concepts. Can I still make an appointment?

Absolutely. Most of our clients are in a place where they want to let go of the scale as a measure of self-worth and want to be less obsessed with food. But their histories of chronic eating disorders and dieting make it really hard to do so. We want you to know these are principles that inform our work but that we are there to partner with you as you grapple through your own process of healing.

Q: What are sessions like?

Our sessions are 50 minutes long. We take the first few sessions to really get to know you. This includes a thorough assessment where we review the intake material together, discuss your eating history, talk through current food and body struggles and determine together a prioritized list of goals. In each follow-up session, will delve more into understanding your unique relationship to food, explore what is and isn't working, and refine your goals. We will continually provide you with guidance on how to find a peaceful relationship with food and your body.

Q: How often will I meet with a dietitian?

It depends on your needs and preferences. As you might expect, the duration of our relationships depend on the purpose of our meeting, your goals, your readiness to change, the support systems you have in place, and many other factors. Most importantly, this is really up to you. We will encourage you to determine if your needs and whether or not we are making progress towards your goals.

For some clients weekly visits can be crucial. For others, a few visits may suffice. After the assessment, we discuss with our clients what is both beneficial and realistic, taking into account their specific circumstances and goals.

Q: I don't live in Massachusetts, can I still see you?

Yes! We are able to support clients who live in the states shaded in green.
