How are You Connecting to Your Body?

How are you connecting to your body in this moment?

In this moment where disconnection might feel preferable. In this moment where the ground perhaps feels less settled than you’d like. And breathing deeply requires a little, or a lot, more effort.

How are you establishing connection to this vessel that has made today and yesterday and all the days before, and all the days that will come afterward, possible?

Being disabled and quarantined, simultaneously, has brought me to a place of new connection. Of appreciating little things that I would never have celebrated before. Of appreciating the fact that I feel my feet hit or slide on the ground, (I haven’t always) and I can type on my phone with two hands, (a skill I thought I had lost, and is transient) and I can just BE in my body without needing to justify it by doing or accomplishing or attaining a thing.

I am connecting to my body by noticing sensation. Responding when I can.

I will never be the same after this.
And I am grateful.

How are you connecting to your body right now?
