Your Body is Trustworthy

Diet and wellness culture sell the lie that having an appetite is a problem. That leaning into your appetite, getting curious about it, is an even bigger problem. NOPE.

The fact is, the more you try to exert “control” over the foods that you eat, and the nature in which you interact with food, the more food has control over you.

You have more important things to do than to fester endlessly about your next bite.

Just like you won’t dispute gravity, you shouldn’t dispute appetite. Be curious about it, sure. But rejecting it because it’s inconvenient/shouldn’t be as active as it is/doesn’t make sense because you recently ate, etc., isn’t doing anything but separating you from your body.

YOUR BODY IS TRUSTWORTHY.

There’s an excellent reason you’re not floating. There’s also an excellent reason to honor your appetite. You will eat. This is good. This is protective and healthy.
