Thanksgiving is my Favorite Day

Thanksgiving is my favorite day.

I love the food.
I love the company.
I love the memories.
I even love how warm the house gets as the number of bodies inside increases.
I love the tradition, and I love the reminder to take pause to be grateful.

I am grateful.

You will likely eat foods tomorrow that you don’t eat on typical days. This is okay. Your body can handle food. And just as it can handle you eating tomorrow, it can also handle you eating Thanksgiving leftovers on the days that follow.

You are allowed to enjoy your food.
You are allowed to ignore the noise: on the news, on social media, or chatter of the people in your company.
You are allowed to walk away.
You are allowed to change the subject.
You are allowed to hold firm boundaries.

Opt out of apologizing for food.
Opt out of body and diet chatter.
Opt into ENJOYMENT.

Deep breaths. You’ve got this.

Love, a.
